Yes they can happily play for hours in the sea with goosebumps and chattering teeth, so pop them in a 'lil wetsuit and they will probably splash about until it's dark. Oh for their energy. Even better, start them surfing as soon as they can walk, they may not then want to study at Medical School when they grow up, but they will be able to pull an alley oop before they are out of their teens.
Neck to ankle neoprene. Don't knock it; no chaffing, no dodgy sunburn and possibly the only time you can walk around fully clad in rubber without being arrested.
